Without passionate, achievement-focussed teams, our business would not reach its full potential, which is why we invest in developing our people and giving them a chance to do what they do best every day – make a real difference, and have a great time doing it.
But don’t just take our word for it. Meet some of the people that help make Lion the leading company it is today.
Jason Baily
National Business Manager – Woolworths, Lion – Beer, Spirits & Wine Located in Sydney
I joined the company in 2003, after working as a liquor retailer and trading partner to the business for more than 10 years. During this time I developed a strong relationship with several of the Lion team, and after seeing the opportunities they were presented with and the passion they had for their brands, I was eager to join them! Lion has a real focus on giving you challenging opportunities, and helping you to develop your leadership skills to become the best you can be. And of course, ensure that you have a great time while doing it!
Victor Li
Legal Counsel, Lion Located in Melbourne
As Legal Counsel, I look after Intellectual Property and Trade Practices matters, work with all business units in the protection of our brands, and liaise with regulators. A career with Lion is really rewarding, because you get the opportunity to work on products that are tangible – you see the results and achievement of your work whenever you walk into any supermarket, convenience outlet, milk bar, bottle shop, pub or restaurant, and you’re working with brands that are suited to almost every social occasion.
George Dimitriou
Area Manager Grocery WA , Lion – Dairy & Drinks Located in Perth
I first joined Lion over six years ago as a Territory Manager, and I’m now the Area Manager Grocery in WA. One of the things that attracted me to the business was the power of the brands, and the support I receive to develop my skills and progress my career. It’s great to be able to go to work and feel passionate about our company, products and people – I think that’s what sets Lion apart.
Matt Tapper
National Marketing Director, Lion – Beer, Spirits & Wine Located in Sydney
Joining the business more than 13 years ago, my career has progressed through various Sales and Marketing roles, operating in a fast-changing environment. At Lion, our people are passionate about our exciting, well-known brands and really committed to making a difference and having a good time. Our core purpose means I am doing my bit to help encourage a sustainable culture, including the responsible consumption of our great brands.
Di Walsh
Culture and Change Director, Lion Located in Auckland, New Zealand
I joined Lion in the role of Chemist based at the Canterbury Brewery, and since then I have diversified my skills and experience via a number of cross functional roles from QA, Packaging, Planning, Sales to now Culture and Change! What I enjoy most about Lion is the continuous challenge to change for the better – adapting to consumer, customer and market conditions that support business sustainability, the freedom it allows people to be personally responsible for their own destiny and the ‘work hard and have a fun time doing it’ ethic. Working with a company that has great brands, stretches goals to keep you challenged and great people is tremendously fulfilling.
Paul Woods
Operations Director, Lion – Beer, Spirits & Wine Australia Located in Brisbane
I joined Lion 21 years ago as an apprentice, and my first impression was that the business really valued the skill development of their tradesmen. I’ve noticed the biggest difference about a career at Lion is that you’re really given the freedom, autonomy and support to make a difference.
Brendon Hurst
Supply Chain Manager WA, Lion – Dairy & Drinks Located in West Australia
I have worked at various production sites on both sides of the business for many years. I joined the Leeton Fresh Juice Factory six years ago as Site Manager and I’m now the Supply Chain Manager in WA. When you start working at Lion the first thing you notice is that it’s a business with a truly great vision for what it wants to be, and it provides its people with the support and the tools to make that vision a reality. There are few businesses out there with both the vision and ability to live their values and achieve their goals – but this is one of them!
