National Foods has today announced an increase of 2 cents per litre for the January to June period in the price for milk for all directly contracted farmers in Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania, in recognition of the rising global commodity market.

The increase will apply to the January to June period and is not being backdated.

General Manager Milk Procurement and Inbound Logistics Murray Jeffrey said he was very pleased to see market improvement that enables National Foods to pass on some relief to farmers in those state in which the price is led by the major export processors.

“I hope farmers across the southern states will welcome this relief, which we are making in anticipation of further strengthening of the price globally,” Mr Jeffrey said.
