Lion appoints new Chief Financial Officer

Lion today announced the appointment of Stephanie Nixon to Chief Financial Officer, following the resignation of incumbent Jamie Tomlinson who has decided to pursue new opportunities outside of Lion.

Stephanie Nixon is currently Finance Director of Lion’s Beer, Spirits & Wine Australia business unit and has held a variety of roles across Planning, Commercial Finance and Strategy since joining Lion in 2000.

Lion conducted a rigorous, global search process, including both internal and external candidates. Stephanie is the second female to be appointed to Lion’s Group Leadership Team, following the appointment of Libby Davidson to Group General Counsel in August 2014.

Lion CEO Stuart Irvine said: “I am thrilled to welcome Stephanie to Lion’s Group Leadership Team. Stephanie has been an integral part of the finance leadership team during her time at Lion, playing a leading role in the integration of Lion Nathan and National Foods, leading Lion’s Corporate Strategy and most recently as the Beer, Sprits & Wine Australia Finance Director.”

Speaking on Jamie’s departure, Stuart said: “Jamie has served Lion with distinction for more than 30 years, first joining Lion New Zealand and progressing through 15 roles before being appointed Chief Financial Officer in 2003.

“Jamie has made a huge contribution to Lion throughout his career, championing focus and also investment in the business’ core strategic assets – its brands, production facilities and people – to position Lion for sustainable growth.

“We will miss his vast experience and great passion for Lion. However, having contributed so much for so long, we respect his decision to move on to new challenges.”

Lion Chairman Sir Rod Eddington said: “Our Board is extremely grateful to Jamie for both his significant contribution to Lion’s strategy over a long period of time and the high quality of Lion’s financial reporting. He has been a first class executive at Lion for many years.

“Stephanie’s extensive experience and deep knowledge of Lion will be an asset to the Group Leadership Team and we congratulate her on the appointment.”

Stephanie will commence as CFO from 1 January 2015. Jamie will provide transition support until 31 March 2015.
